Last week I gave a paper draft to Grad Advisor. Her feedback went something like this: "I liked it, except for the words."

I'm a postdoc in the biological sciences. I can't decide if I work too much or not enough. I'm married to Dr. Hyde, a fabulous scientist himself, and we've finally had a child after a long time trying. The title and pseudonym? One name at work, another at home.

Hmm...that doesn't sound very helpful to me. Hopefully Grad Advisor had more to say than that?
Yes, there was loooong discussion of what the primary focus of the paper was, and how to bring that across. But that was her opening salvo. And so here I am grimacing at Word again....
