Hillary Clinton's speech made me cry. Pundits are reading all kind of things into it like leaving the door open for a 2012 run, but you know what? That wasn't the key message. She laid it out brilliantly: Were you in it for me, or for all the downtrodden invisible people in this country?
I voted for Obama, largely on the strength of the Iraq vote, and I was happy to see him win. But it was poignant and a tiny bit wrenching to see Hillary (finally!) suck that up, throw her weight behind him, and rally the faithful. I thought she did a great job.
Also, the bit about how her mother was born when women couldn't vote, but Hillary's daughter got to vote for her mother for president? Waterworks, totes, and I'm not even PMSing.

I feel the same way. Last night the Clintons made me proud of them again. I am excited to see what Bill has to say tonight. I really hope he decides to talk about the economy. That really is Obama's strength...
or as Field might put it...
"I can love those mofos again"
it was a very good speech from Hillary.
"She couldn't help thinkin that there
Was a little more to life"
Make it last all night, american girl...
Oh me too. I was bawling. Bill was bawling... or maybe my TV is just a little fuzzy...
I'm really sorry I missed it. I've been reading about it today, and while it makes me happy, I've lost the impact of her delivery. Thus no tears. At least not about politics.
Made me cry, too. So proud...
candid--it's all online....check the ny times or other sites....
I cried a little just reading her speech this morning. I hope she and Bill can induce more of the "Hillraisers"--big-ass fundraising bundlers--to throw their efforts into Obama's campaign. From what I have read, a substantial fraction of them are peeved that their asses are not being kissed suitably by Obama. (Caveat: I don't have independent verification of this, so it could be that these stories are just sick-fuck right-wing ratfuckery.)
hey, where'd hill n bill go for the big speech? Cameras never landed on them so they must've been elsewhere. Bushleague.
